Volunteers: The Heart of Carolina Native’s Recovery

When Hurricane Helene struck, Carolina Native Nursery faced one of the most challenging times in its history. The storm left a trail of debris and severely damaged our business. But thanks to the power of community, what felt overwhelming quickly became a testament to resilience, teamwork, and generosity.

Over the course of many long dedicated volunteer days, and a few spontaneous visits from friends—the nursery transformed. Dozens of incredible individuals rolled up their sleeves and helped clear the way for recovery.

The Backbone of Our Recovery

We are truly amazed by the dedication of those who answered our call for help. Volunteers came from all over North Carolina and the country, including wholesale clients who brought their entire teams, and friends who stopped by to lend a hand for an hour or two. These individuals didn’t shy away from hard work or getting their hands dirty, and their camaraderie made even the toughest tasks more enjoyable.

Lunches and work became moments of connection, where stories were shared, and bonds were formed. What could have been a daunting cleanup effort became a community-driven mission, filled with laughter, hard work, and hope.

To all of you who joined us in the cleanup: thank you.

A Special Thanks to Our Heroes

While we wish we could name every single person who helped, here are just some of the amazing individuals and companies who made our recovery possible:

We had hundreds of people donate to help us clean up and rebuild. A huge thank you to you all. An additional thank you to all volunteers who donated their time and effort to help us recover in the wake of this tragic event.

Companies Represented:
Greaterscapes, Superbloom Natives, Landmark WNC, and others who generously sent their teams.

Without your support, we would not be where we are today. Thank you!

Moving Forward with Gratitude

Now, the debris is cleared, and our nursery is steadily getting back on its feet. While the journey is far from over, this milestone reminds us that even in the face of disaster, the strength of community can bring about incredible change.

To our volunteers, donors, and supporters: you are not just helpers, you are a part of the Carolina Native Nursery family. We are deeply grateful for your time, effort, and heart.

Together, we’re rebuilding more than a nursery; we’re cultivating a stronger community. Thank you for being part of our recovery story. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
